Each and every ring from this collection is the output of a “session” –
one that takes place in the limitless margins of virtual reality. A combo of video game-like controllers and Tom Cruise à la Minority Report hand motions allow the designer to doodle in three dimensions, to sculpt without any constraints. Seen instantaneously via an ocular headset, an infinite supply of computer-generated matter is extruded into cyber-space until form has become singular, and satisfaction has been obtained. The process is impulsive, but direct, even seemingly made of magic. Once a session is complete, the ring form is machine printed in the round and begins its alchemical transformation into sterling silver.
